Countdown to Cage-free

    We know Kiwis care -

it's time to stop selling all cage eggs.

Cage-free: good enough for Aussies, not good enough for Kiwis?
Spread the word:

Cage eggs are cruel. We know it. You know it. And now it’s time for New Zealand’s biggest supermarket to listen.

The multi-million dollar Australian corporation, Woolworths, has already committed to phasing out cage eggs in their stores over the Tasman, after Aussies asked them to. But Woolworths, who owns Countdown in New Zealand, is refusing to show their Kiwi customers the same respect by making Countdown fully cage-free too, despite pleas from thousands of people.

It’s time for Countdown to take action to address the cruelty on their shelves.

Countdown must join the global movement away from cage cruelty.

Kiwis deserve better. 3 out of 4 of Countdown customers support a phase out of all cage eggs. Email the Leadership of Woolworths and Countdown and ask them to treat Kiwis with the same respect as their Aussie customers. It's time for them to announce a public policy agreeing to a phase-out date of all cage eggs.
